Village Tour

Village tours offer you the unique opportunity to experience directly the Nepali life and culture! There are over 30 different ethnic groups comprising the population of Nepal and choosing a *Village tour* can give you a cross section of different foods and cultural traditions as you walk (or in some cases drive) in the foothills. The welcome and honouring treatment that you receive as a guest in a village is an experience that can inspire and invoke a lifelong family feeling! In some villages guesthouse or lodge accommodation is available, however we recommend for the full experience a *Village Home Stay*!
Village tours can be perfect for those guests who don’t wish to experience extreme altitude or climates yet still wish for the real life of Nepal experience!
There is a wide selection of Village tours; here are some of our favourites:
Bandipur Village
Helambu Valley
Tansen Village
Ghandrung Village
Dhampus Village
Ghale gaun Village

Village Home Stay
Imagine that you are a Nepali citizen for a few days or week – that is how a Village Home Stay can be! Staying in a traditional family home, with a Nepali family, this unique experience will open your eyes to an ancient tradition of living. Waking up to the early morning, sipping tea before the family begins its daily tasks. Take a turn in ploughing the field or husking rice! Learn about the simplicity of village life and taste the delights of food grown naturally and cooked before you. Take some time with the children playing in the river and fields, go along with them to school for a day of insight and laughter! A home-stay can touch your heart and soul and give you memories that last a lifetime.

Nature Educational Walks & Tour
The flora and fauna of Nepal is widely diverse and unique. Additionally the culture and spiritual heritage of Nepal is ancient and rich. Why not take some time with an experienced guide who can share with you some of the details as you walk along gentle trails, pointing out the native plants and the various forms of agriculture that crosses your path. This *in situ* classroom is any budding biologist or anthropologist dream!

Nepal has a vast range of bio-diversity, to give a short summary: The tallest mountain range in the world, the Himalayan is also a youngest and is still growing. This range deprives the great Tibetan plateau from monsoon and forms the rain shadow. And on the other hand it also blocks the cold northern winds reaching the Indian plains during winter. Because of these phenomena the southern parts of the Himalayan is lush green, productive and prone to erosion due to full brunt of monsoon, whereas the northern Tibetan plateau remained arid region. This uniqueness in the climate found due to altitudinal variation allows Nepal to experience from Tropical to Alpine bio-climate, despite our geographical position. Hence Nepal boasts from the large terrestrial rhinos and elephants of the tropics to the snow leopard and Tibetan Argali of alpine region.

Nepal has been ranked top ten highest flowering plant diversity out of 25 Asian countries. On a world scale Nepal lies 27th in the richness scale on floral diversity. With just over 0.1% of the earths land surface occurring in Nepal, it supports globally known 4.2% butterflies (635 spp), 2.2 % of fresh water fish species (185 spp), 1.1 % amphibians (43 spp.), 1.5% reptile (100 spp.), 8.5% of birds (860 spp.) and 4.2% mammals (181 spp).
